Education and guidelines

parked ambulanceChildren present to all parts of the region with severe illness and injury.  Their recovery depends as much on early recognition and intervention as on subsequent intensive care input.

As part of our service we therefore have a responsibility to help maintain the level of education and expertise within the region.  We do this through direct contact with the liaison consultant or the retrieval coordinator in the District General Hospital setting, on our multidisciplinary study days |at Guy's or St Thomas' and through our new mobile simulation-based learning programme - simulator course|.

We have also generated a number of clinical guidelines |which our retrieval teams refer to.
